Hi there! I’m Fatema, and together with my husband Haydar – and our little boy Saleh – we welcome you to Feel Good Fam! I started this blog as a way to reach out to people who are looking to live a more healthy, fulfilling lifestyle. I am passionate about living and eating healthy, and I am also a big believer in making the healthy lifestyle fun for the whole family. We do this by highlighting simple recipes and natural remedies built around the idea of doing more (good) with less (ingredients).
Living and eating healthy shouldn’t be hard, but why does it feel like it’s getting more and more difficult to avoid unhealthy foods and products? The Internet is a wealth of information, but filtering through it all to identify what’s actually useful is not easy. Thankfully for you, I’ve done the work! I write posts about the things I have personally found to be useful for me and my family in our pursuit of healthy living. I also love to cook up recipes that offer alternative takes on traditional dishes, focusing on making them more simple, healthy, and just as good. You’ll discover a fun mix of recipes here including vegan and gluten free varieties.
As a mother, I want to share everything I’ve learned (and continue to learn!) on my journey through pregnancy and into motherhood. From sonograms to strollers, I’ll cover everything on being a happy, healthy mom. To all the new and soon-to-be moms out there, you got this! I’m here for you! For the experienced moms reading this, there’s always more to learn!
Providing the best for my little Saleh was the main drive behind learning to live healthier, but it wasn’t the only factor. Shortly after finding out I was pregnant, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. It was a very happy (pregnant!) and scary (cancer!) time for us. He went through multiple surgeries and endured months of chemotherapy, and it was during all this when we welcomed Saleh into our lives. Yes, it was as crazy and nerve-racking as it sounds. Thankfully, he persevered and has been cancer free for over one year and counting! Haydar’s cancer diagnosis was a wake up call for me, that we needed to do a better job of taking care of ourselves, both in what we ate and how we lived.
And that is why we have started this blog. To discuss mindful matters, to showcase delectable dishes, with the goal of a happy & healthy life. Feel good fam!
